Service Coordinator Onboarding Quick Guide

This resource is for EI Coordinators (and service coordinators) as a quick guide for ensuring completion of required training and to provide quick access to other resources and recommended training.
Service Coordinator Hiring Requirements
Bachelor's degree OR
Five years experience in the field of early childhood or developmental disabilities OR
Some combination of education and experience appropriate to the requirements of the position
Required Training
Gain access to the EI Data System
Local program to follow instructions in EI Data System User Guide
This is initiated by the designated user listed in the contacts sheet (often the EI Coordinator or the SC Supervisor)
Complete EI Fundamentals within 90 days of hire
Service Coordinator to register in the Professional Development Information System (PDIS)
The service coordinator’s supervisor is responsible for checking the box in the service coordinator’s contact in the EI Data System upon completion of EI Fundamentals (directions can be found in the EI Data System User Guide)
Family Assessment Training (supplemental to EI Fundamentals)
Tool and training dependent on local program
RBI training is provided by the local program
Any training required by the local program
Recommended Training
Family Rights and Procedural Safeguards Training (this is covered in EI Fundamentals, however this separate training is a good overview/refresher for service coordinators)
Review EI Colorado SC Competencies
Other training offered through the Cornerstone LMS
Extended Part C Option Training
Telehealth Training
Review EI Fundamentals after 6+ months
