Service Coordinator Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree OR

  • Five years experience in the field of early childhood or developmental disabilities OR

  • Some combination of education and experience appropriate to the requirements of the position

Required Training

  • Gain access to the EI Data System

    • Local program to follow instructions in EI Data System User Guide

      • This is initiated by the designated user listed in the contacts sheet (often the EI Coordinator or the SC Supervisor)

  • Complete EI Fundamentals within 90 days of hire

    • Service Coordinator to register in the Professional Development Information System (PDIS)

      • EI Fundamentals User Guide

        • The service coordinator’s supervisor is responsible for checking the box in the service coordinator’s contact in the EI Data System upon completion of EI Fundamentals (directions can be found in the EI Data System User Guide)

  • Family Assessment Training (supplemental to EI Fundamentals)

  • Any training required by the local program
