Developmental Intervention-Assistant Waiver

Purpose: Issued to providers with an Associate’s degree in a related field or 4 years of experience working with infants and toddlers with developmental concerns. Developmental Intervention-Assistants must meet Competencies for Developmental Intervention-Assistants and receive supervision by a provider that meets EI Colorado Personnel Standards and provides supervision in accordance with the Competencies for Supervisors of Developmental Intervention-Assistants. This waiver does not expire as long as the requirements for supervision are met.

  1. Login to Provider Portal

  2. Navigate to My Professional Information tab

  3. Click Request Waiver

  4. From the Waiver Type drop-down menu select Developmental Intervention-Assistant

  5. Enter narrative in text field “Detailed statement of why waiver is needed”

  6. Enter narrative in text field “Current Role and Qualifications,” include

    1. Relevant experience with infants and toddlers of diverse needs, including training(s)

    2. Expected progress toward or date of completion to meet qualified personnel standards

  7. Select the “Type of Service that will be provided under the waiver”

    1. Use arrow to move service from Available to Selected section

  8. Enter narrative in text field “Specific plan for supervision, including name and qualifications of supervising professional”

  9. Complete the Attestation that the provider will “adhere to Early Intervention Colorado Developmental Intervention-Assistant (DI-A) Competencies”

    1. Attestation is completed by:

      1. Checking the checkbox

      2. Typing Name in the Signature line

      3. Selecting the Date (time stamp is completed automatically via the system)

  10. Click Next

  11. Attach CV/Resume by uploading or dragging and dropping file(s)

    1. Additional Required Attachments (select document type) include:

      1. Letter of Request from Agency

      2. Resume/CV

      3. Trainings

      4. Degrees awarded and transcripts

      5. Licenses and/or Certifications

  12. Click Submit  

  13. Email will be sent to EIB Coordinator informing them a Provider has requested a Waiver

  14. Email will be sent to EI Colorado staff to approve, deny, or request additional information regarding the waiver request

  15. EI Colorado staff will make a determination on waiver request and the provider will be notified via email
