Notes:
Slide 11.4.3 & 11.4.8 A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was developed between the Department of Early Childhood and the Department of Education regarding the timeline for AU Notification. The new timeline required that notification be provided to the AU for all children who are potentially eligible by 2 years, 6 months of age. If a child has a low incidence diagnosis, including, but not limited to, visual impairment, including blindness; hearing impairment, including deafness; or deaf-blind the AU Notification needs to be made by 2 years, 3 months of age.
Slide 11.4.5 The AU Notification form has been changed and no longer includes the consent for providing additional information to the AU. This is done on a separate “consent to share information form.”
Quiz Question Clarification:
One of the questions is “When a child turns 3 years old, early intervention services must end and the child must exit early intervention services.” The correct answer is True. The Extended Part C Option was put in place after this training was developed, so if a child is participating in the Extended Part C Option because they meet all of the requirements, this question would have an exception
Additional Learning Opportunity:
The Extended Part C Option was added since the development of this training. Information about the Extended Part C Option for families can be found at eicolorado.org on the For Families tab under Transitions & The Extended Part C Option, and under the Training & TA tab, Required Training & Opportunities for Technical Assistance, Extended Part C Option. Training about the Extended Part C Option is also available on the training platform
