Article summary

In the case where an evaluation entity cannot find an interpreter for an evaluation, EI Colorado can provide support to find an interpreter.

While most evaluation entities have a contractual relationship with an interpreter agency for evaluations, there are situations when an agency cannot meet the need for the interpretation - especially when a language is less commonly used in Colorado.

When this occurs,  Evaluation Entities should reach out to EI Colorado by sending an email to the EI Colorado Intake Supervisor, [email protected] with the following information:

  • Referral Case ID

  • An explanation why an interpreter is needed

EI Colorado will then authorize the use of CyraCom/Voiance and provide contact information. CyraCom/Voiance is an “on demand” interpretation service, however, for some languages an interpreter may need to be scheduled ahead of time. CyraCom/Voiance will confirm which option is best for the language needed.

Evaluation Entities will receive a PIN code from CyraCom/Voiance. It is then the responsibility of the Evaluation Entity to schedule the interpreter with CyraCom/Voiance.

CyraCom/Voiance will invoice EI Colorado directly so billing will not be submitted by the Evaluation Entity for the interpreter for these evaluations.
