Article summary

Early Intervention Client Case Set Up

Purpose: A Client Case is set up from an EI Referral Case when Status is set to Complete > Client Case Opened. Accounts and Contact information is visible to all users across all Local EIBs and programs within the data system.  Client Cases and IFSPs are visible only to the EIB in which the child receives services

  1. To avoid creating a duplicate client Contact or Account, the Duplicate Contact button within EI Referral Case should be utilized

  2. If an Account and Contact record appear for a child, this indicates one of the following:

    1. The child has been receiving services from another EIB

    2. The child already has a Client Case with current EIB

    3. The child already has a case with another program using the data system

  3. To ensure there is only one Client Case with the EIB, users with Manager/Supervisor access can view all available cases and verify there is NOT an open case already in existence.

  4. If the search comes back with multiple records

    1. Once the correct Contact is located, click on the child’s name

    2. Update the address, phone and other fields as needed. This will automatically update the Account information.
