All Providers: Utilizing the Chatter Function

Chatter is a way for EI Colorado to share information and updates with EI Colorado Providers. Providers can access Chatter by clicking on the CHATTER tab on the Provider Portal dashboard. Note: The Chatter group specific to EI Service Providers is called EI Provider Portal Chatter.

  1. Click on the +Ask to Join button

    1. A Membership Requested button will appear

    2. The user will receive an email that says “(EI State Team Member Name) has added you to the group EI Provider Portal Chatter”  

    3. The user will be able to click on a link in that email and view the Chatter  

      1. The user may need to log in to Salesforce if they have not already logged in

  2. New posts in the Provider Portal Community Chatter will also send an email notification. It is recommended that users keep email notifications on in order to receive all updates. The user can manage how often they receive these email notifications under My Settings

  3. When you first log in to Chatter, the user will be taken to their own Home Page or ‘Feed’. There are three ways to get to the Provider Portal Community Group Page:demo

    1. Click the CHATTER tab

    2. Click What I Follow -> then click on the Provider Portal Community link in the feed

    3. Click Groups-> then click Provider Portal Community

  4. EI Colorado will post updates and information in the Provider Portal Community and users can comment or ask questions by clicking Comment

    1. If the user is asking a question, use the @ symbol plus the person’s name of the post originator to ensure the poster receives an email notification that you have asked them a question

    2. Users can also create posts on their own personal feed to ask EI Colorado a question. When creating a post on their personal feed be sure to use the @ symbol plus the person’s name

  5. EI Colorado may post documents and resources as attached files to Chatter posts. These attachments can be accessed directly from the original post. Attachments can also be accessed by clicking Files from the left menu bar
