*This email was sent to The Workforce Investment Committee Members, EI Coordinators, Additions to EI Coordinators, Providers, and The State Team.
Early Intervention (EI) Colorado is excited to share that the EI Workforce Investment Committee came to a consensus with a recommendation for a Mileage and Travel Policy that provides both Mileage Reimbursement and a Travel Stipend to cover travel time, specifically for sub and independent contractors.
Thank you for your patience as the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) engages in data analysis and forecasting to identify a sustainable plan and implementation timeline for the Mileage and Travel Policy recommendations made by the Committee. The EI Workforce Investment Committee recommendation provides the maximum amount of support to both subcontracted agencies and independent contracted providers by recognizing their value. The recommendation will also aid in the long-term recruitment and retention efforts surrounding the EI Colorado workforce. Although a recommendation has been made, all EI brokers, independent contractors, and agencies subcontracting with EI brokers should continue current mileage and travel practices until implementation steps and timelines can be determined.
The Workforce Investment Committee will continue to work closely with EI Colorado to answer frequently asked questions about the Mileage and Travel Policy recommendation and guide implementation across the state. This work will resume in the Fall of 2024 and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
Best,
Ceanne Coleman, OTR/L
EI Workforce Administrator
